The Special Project Assistants Active Alumni was started on December 20, 2011 and that is when the badges were starting to be given out.
Yes, a lot of Special Project Assistants go on to become Supervisors. The aim of the programme is to give its members enough information about the site and its tools to go on to become Supervisors! Once they have become Supervisors, SPAs are welcome to stay part of the programme and can join the SPA Active Alumni!!

However, wished to support the SPA program and complete missions as a Special Project Assistant.SPA Active Alumni can accomplish missions that require Super Powers (like - thrashing, merging, batch re-categorization, etc) in addition to regular missions, and may assist new SPA members in understanding their missions.To become a Special Project Assistant contact Stupid Little Genius on her message board (see related link below).
