Mermaids are mythical creatures that are well known for being great singers. Mermaids are famous for pulling sailors to their underwater world, drowning them in the process. Another legend is a Siren, they sang beautiful songs to lure sailors into the water to drown them. ^^^Actually, sirens are famous for pulling sailors beneath the waves and drowning them. Mermaids are mostly famous from Hans Christian Anderson's story "The Little Mermaid". Previous mythology is mostly about sirens, which are close in similarity but really quite different. Mermaids practice magic and mystique, whereas sirens practice song and drowining sailors. --MerAnnabella (Sources: professional mermaid, been mermaid-ing for 7 years)
