Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel
Though he wasn't born in America, and moved there later, you could argue Charles Theodore Pachelbel was an American composer during the Baroque Era through residency. His death date is not known for certain, but he was buried on September 15, 1750. He lived in the colony of South Carolina but the United States wasn't formed yet.
The most famous composers of the Baroque era are Bach and Handel. Also important during this period were Telemann and Vivaldi. In this writer's opinion those are the four pre-eminent composers, but some might nominate Scarlatti, Corelli, Couperin, Locatelli or many others.
There are many noted composers. If you mean classical music composers, some are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Pytor Tchaikovsky, Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff and so on. For baroque music, some composers are Johann Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and George Handel.
