In the Book of Revelation, chapter 7, we first read of these 144,000 who are mentioned again in Revelation 14. It is here where it becomes clear that these spiritual 'firstfruits,' (see James 1:18 as His Church) of the tribes of Israel (actual physical descendants of all 12 tribes living at this time) will have repented and been converted before the beginning of the Day of the Lord.
These 144,000, who are not to be confused with those taken to a place of safety, are described as being redeemed and without fault. They are represented as having a relationship both with God the Father and Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God.
