La Asociación Hispano-Filipino January 12, 1899. Miguel Morayta founds the "Asociación Hispano-Filipino" (Spanish-Filipino Association). Its members are Spaniards who have been working in the Philippines as merchants or civil servants. The aim of the association is a thorough reform of the Philippines, i. e. the Philippines should be presented in the "Cortes" (Spanish paliament) and the school system needs a fundamental reform.
