With the exception of Renee Fleming, there are no "great soprano's today, though there are some very good ones. The greatest sopranos of the 20th century are, in my opinion, Rosa Ponselle, Lotte Lehmann Kirsten Flagstad, Zinka Milanov, Birgit Nilsson, Joan Sutherland,, Leontyne Price, Montserrat Caballe', Renata Tebaldi, and without a doubt, the legendary Maria Callas, whose artistic intelligence and voice of many colors has made her THE supreme Opera diva of the Twentieth Century. But this is only MY opinion.
