In addition to Athena, the two goddesses who can resist Aphrodite's spells are Artemis and Hestia. Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and chastity, is known for her independence and strong will, while Hestia, the goddess of the hearth and home, embodies purity and is often associated with a life of simplicity and devotion. Both deities maintain their own distinct values that shield them from Aphrodite's influence.

According to Hesiod Aphrodite was born when Cronus cut off Uranus's genitals and threw them into the sea, and she arose from the sea foam (aphros). Well, this answer has two answers, since there are two different accounts of the birth of Aphrodite. The first answer is no. One account on Aphrodite's birth says she was born from the sea foam, so she would have no parents, and of coarse, no siblings. The second answer is yes, Aphrodite and Athena are both sisters. Athena sprang from Zeus's forehead, making him her father. The second account on Aphrodite's birth says that she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. That would make the two goddesses half- sisters.
The other two goddesses in competition for the golden apple were Athene and Hera. Paris, the Trojan prince who had to judge who deserved the golden apple (which was inscribed "to the fairest"), was offered bribes by each of the goddesses. Athene promised him wisdom and strength in war. Hear promised she would make him a great king. Aphrodite promised him Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris chose Aphrodite's bribe, and gave her the golden apple.

The goddess, "Venus" was a Roman entity. There originally was no equal goddess in Greek mythology, though one goddess whose attributes overlapped those of Venus was Aphrodite (aff-roe-DYE-tee). Somewhere along the line of history, the attributes of Aphrodite were added to those of Venus, and after that the two goddesses were thought of as being identical. So, we can safely say that the Greek name for the Planet Venus is Planet Aphrodite.
