Sharks are under tremendous pressures from illegal finning practices. Which essentially kills the sharks solely for their fins. The finless sharks are dumped back in the sea.
The Shark Research Institute (www.sharks.org) is one of a few environmental organizations dedicated to stopping this practice, completely.
