At the time of Ridgeway's arrest in 2001 there was only one person left on the Green River Task Force, detective Tom Jensen. Jensen and Seattle police officers finally arrested Ridgeway for the murders of dozens of young women in and around the Seattle area.
Ironically, Dave Reichert, with the Green River Task Force from the beginnig until he was promoted to the King County Sheriff's Office, was not present for the arrest. Reichert worked the case longer than any one person, and without a doubt knew more about the case than anyone else. For almost 20 years, Reichert lived and breathed Green River killer and it most definitely took a personal toll.
