Yes. In January 1835, Richard Lawrence attempted to shoot Jackson outside the Capitol. After the gun misfired, he pulled out another gun but this also misfired. The chances of two guns misfiring are ridiculously low, so Jackson was unbelievably lucky. This is the first known assassination attempt on a US President.
