Lady Jane Grey inherited under the terms of Edward's will, but she was quickly dethroned by the Henry VIII's legitimate heir, Mary, who was crowned Mary I, but is known to history as Bloody Mary. One of the people beheaded under her signature, after a rebellion to overthrow Mary, was Lady Jane.
