It was a joint effort by all the helpers. Miep got most of the groceries, the greens and, with the help of a discreet greengrocer, the potatoes. Bep got the milk, Kleiman the bread, Jan Gies various things they couldn't get any other way. Miep also got the meat from the sympathetic butcher.
