People get to the top of the temple ruins to decode the hieroglyphics by using various climbing equipment that is usually funded by museums and colleges. Each attempt is carefully planned out and closely monitored to ensure that each trip is safe and those decoding are able to successfully gather data.
The artifact that allowed scientists to translate hieroglyphics was the Rosetta Stone. It contained a decree in three scripts: hieroglyphics, Demotic script, and Greek. By comparing the Greek text with the two Egyptian scripts, scholars were able to decipher the hieroglyphics.
Historians were able to decipher hieroglyphics after the discovery of the Rosetta Stone.
With out hieroglyphics we would now the ancient past history, because in ancient times hieroglyphics were designed so that people could write with out them we would never have been able to find out everything we have.
