Mordecai, Esther's cousin, raised her as an adopted daughter.
The names of Esther's parents are not mentioned in the Bible. She was an orphan, brought up by her uncle, as the Bible says: And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter (Esther 2.7)
Esther was Mordecai's uncle's daughter. Esther 2:7 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.
The Scripture does not mention his name. It only mentions her older cousin Mordecai and her father Abihail in Esther 2:15:Esther 2:7New King James Version (NKJV)7AndMordecaihad brought up Hadassah, thatis,Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. According to the book of Esther, Queen Vashti was executed after she refused to come in front of the Persian King Achashverosh. Once Vashti was executed, the king needed a new wife. Achashverosh had all of the beautiful unmarried women in the country brought to the palace to participate in a beauty pageant during which he chose Esther to be his new bride. However, Esther wasn't chosen because she was the most beautiful. Prior to the pageant, all of the women were offered their choice of jewels, clothing, and beauty treatments. Esther though, didn't ask for anything and it was her modesty and inner beauty that caused the king to choose her.

A:The Book of Esther tells us that Esther married King Xerxes (Ahasuerus) of Persia and became queen. The Book of Esther is not regarded by scholars as factual, and the marriage of Esther and Xerxes is not historical. King Xerxes was married to Queen Amestris at the very time that the book says he divorced Vashti and married Esther, and remained married to Amestris for at least the next several years.
