The Rolling Stones were more well known then the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones came from England while the Grateful Dead came from California.
the term rolling stones simply came from a muddy waters song, "Rollin' Stone". when asked the band's name for the first tryout of a record company, jagger and Richards had no idea what to say, but brian Jones blurted out "the rollin' stones", which translated into the rolling stones.
The Rolling Stones first studio release album came out in 1964. It was self titled "The Rolling Stones", but in the United States the album was released under the title "Englands Newest Hitmakers" This album reached great commercial success behind the popularity of its single, "Come On", a cover of the classic Chuck Berry tune.
Ron Wood.
They formed in London. All members were born in England.
Just "The Rolling Stones" in 1964. The next one was also self titled, until the greatest hits in 1965, htey were just simply named; 1 and 2. The first album with a real title came in 1965 "Out Of Our Heads", that included their huge seller "Satisfaction".
The Rolling Stones covered the Beatles Song "I Wanna Be Your Man" in 1963. Actually, their version came out 3 weeks before The Beatles' version did.
The Rolling Stones, obviously. Edit: Actually The Rolling Stones came after The Beatles. They were really inspired by Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Byrds, The Beach Boys, and Ravi Shankar.
Little Richard. He was a big influence in Elvis.
The Beatles _________ I'd tend to agree the Beatles, because their impact was wider (and slightly earlier) and because they popularised the new production techniques of the later 1960s. The early Stones however had arguably a greater impact on "alternative" rock through their influence on the emerging US garage scene which in turn fed into 1970s punk and some of its offspring, feeding into later stripped-down underground "edgy", "angular" sounds and the rebel attitudes that often accompany them.
Elvis's first movie, Love Me Tender came out in November of 1956 and he went into the army in March of 1958 so his fist movie came first.
