The IBM Thinkpad name was suggested by IBM employee Denny Wainwright. Denny came up with the name because he had a "THINK" notepad in his pocket.
It opens up the Lenovo ThinkVantage program, which supplies support options and updates and stuff. You can reassign it if you want.
The Lenovo Thinkpad T42 has a variety of features including two audio jacks, an 86 key keyboard, two memory slots, memory of up to 2GB and speeds of up to 4Mbps via the Infared system. One can find further information about the features that the Lenovo Thinkpad T42 has by visiting the official Lenovo website.
To use the phone line port on an IBM ThinkPad 9546 to connect to the internet, you'll need a dial-up modem connected to the phone line. First, ensure that the modem is properly installed and configured on your laptop. Then, set up a dial-up connection through your operating system's network settings, entering the required phone number and credentials provided by your internet service provider. Finally, initiate the connection, and you should be able to access the internet.
It should be possible, as long as you have 512 MB or more RAM installed (it supports up to 2 GB). You may have trouble finding drivers for some of the components, such as the wireless card.
These are post codes at the start up of a ThinkPad. Usually they indicate a problem with the unit. Think of them as troubleshooting Morse Code. Count the number of beeps - the number of beeps will correspond to a problem code on Lenovo's website or in your laptop owners manual. Usually they mean a memory chip has gone bad, a hard drive has died, or the system board has problems.
IBM made ThinkPad's T40, T41 and T42 which all had titanium cases, but I saw this last back in 2004. Apple made a PowerBook G4 up until 2006 with titanium case.
The term "PC," short for "personal computer," gained popularity in the early 1980s, largely due to IBM's introduction of the IBM PC in 1981. While the concept of a personal computer existed before IBM's model, the widespread adoption of the term can be attributed to IBM's marketing efforts, which helped define and standardize the category of personal computing for consumers. The term itself was in use prior to IBM's launch, but their product solidified its common usage.
Samuel J. Palmisano is the IBM Chairman of the Board. He is up for re-election for a term of one year on April 28, 2009.
Harry came up with the name :)
Yes, they are great. They used to be IBM and still use the thinkpad and ideapad branding but IBM's manufacturing company bought them out. They have kept the quality up ever since. They are normally business machines but they do have home oriented ones too, I would suggest the ideapad z560. They are a little more expensive than toshiba or acer but the quality and construction is much better.
who first came up with the name email?
Michael Clifford came up with the name. :)
