Air rifles use compressed air or C02 to propel the BB or pellet. They do not use gunpowder. Their is no bullet shell and bullet just the BB or pellet.
A 22 caliber rifle is a firearm and a BB gun is an air gun (Not a firearm) Now if you are asking about a .22 caliber air gun then the difference is in the size of the projectile. A BB is a hard round .175 caliber ball. The .22 caliber is a larger size pellet.
For a air soft BB gun it's okay not powerful. For a regular BB gun "NO" that is not powerful at all. A Daisy Red Ryder BB rifle will fire around 325 FPS most new pellet Air Rifles will fire at least 1,000 FPS. A really good Air soft rifle will get around 500 FPS.
As far as I know Gamo never made a bb gun named the FIX. They did make a model named the CFX, but it is a rifle and shoots pellets, it's not a bb gun. I suggest you contact Gamo at the link below and ask them.

I've gone through several air gun catalogues and have been unable to locate a Daisy model 170 bb gun that has ever been made. I did find a Daisy BB gun model 5170 and a BB rifle model 1170 along with a BB rifle model 107 but "NO" model 170. However I suggest you search the web for "Daisy Air gun Repair" or "Air gun repair" and locate someone near you who can help you.
This is a JC Higgins model air rifle made for Sears by Crosman air gun company. Its really a Crosman model V350 made between 1961-69. It's a push barrel BB rifle.
