Inspect the fringe on the Burberry scarf. Burberry has fringe that looks clean and does not appear tangled. The string on the fringe will not appear fuzzy, and generally will not be longer than 3 inches in length. Use a ruler to determine the length.

I was wondering the same thing - I bought a scarf from ioffer.com and have since gone to a Burberry store and am having second thoughts. The scarves in the store feel a bit different that the ioffer scarf... First, one should look at the brand name on the tag as counterfeiters frequently spell the brand name incorrectly. The tag will read BURBERRY in all capital letters. The next place to look is the fringe. The fringe will be smooth and not tangled. The plaid on the scarf will be straight and never at an angle. The best way to make sure that the scarf is genuine is to shop at a reputable store.
Look for the lining. The pattern should be of copyrighted Burberry check.
1. Buy it from Nordstroms. 2. You can Look on the back it should say Burberry. 3. Look for the guy on the horse on the back. There is lots of detail generally.

Only way I can tell I if the stitching on the tag, if it is hand stitched with single Stitches on all four sides and NOT machine stitched.
Whatever way you put on the scarf and see yourself im a mirror, it will tell you that you are looking smart.
Usually a fake will have the Gucci sign glued on instead of sewn but sometimes they are sewn on and then you can't really tell.

Swelling, Arm pain if you have any of these rest the arm, if it is no better go to your doctor he/she will tell you what to do and might tell you to wear a sling. If she/he doesn't give you a sling make one out of a scarf.
