Tchaikovsky, a russian
By Pyotr Tchaikovsky, composed 1875-1876
Swan Lake is a ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1875-1876.
1875 - 1876
Tchaikovsky wrote three ballets; in chronological order they are Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty. Choreographers have created ballets from other music by Tchaikovsky as well.
so far I have not seen the film/movie, but I believe from my own knowledge of the story line and from going to see the ballet that the music from the music box is one of the pieces from the original ballet composed by Tchaikovsky himself. These pieces were fitted for the story line, you can watch some of the dance performances to them on youtube, but his pieces are most likely due to the recurring theme of the black swan/swan lake idea and also because of the popularity of the swan lake music for music boxes.
One source of piano notes for Swan Lake is the Music Notes website. You can get the first page of notes for free and the rest are available for a small charge.

Anyone can get the music score of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake from any decent music shop. Foyle's Bookshop in London, for example, or Chappell's music shop also in London, would be likely to stock the music score of Swan Lake. You go to the music floor, search for composers alphabetically, look for Tchaikovsky, and there should be the score for the Swan Lake ballet. There may be two different scores - a full orchestral score or a "piano" score (a shortened score). Or you may search the Internet, which may give you many sites from which you could order the score.
