In Greek mythology, Idas, was a Messenian prince. He was one of the Argonauts and was a participant in the hunt for the Calydonian Boar.
It was sent by Artemis to ravage the region of Calydon in Aetolia because its king failed to honor her.
She was the only female huntress with the hunting party and the first one to draw blood.
