Who created the choc chip cookie and how?

Ruth Graves Wakefield created the choc chip cookie in 1933 when she ran out of chocolate cookie mixture to use to bake chocolate cookies. She instead got little bits of finely chopped up chocolate and tried putting them in the cookies to make them chocolate, but it resulted in a cookie with little brown chocolate bits all over.
