Really I guess depending on your Boredom on what you do, but in my travels as a kid, we would play games such as; Slugbug- Where whomever sees a vw beetle first Yells " slugbug dont slug back!" and punch the other person (not hard). Then You can play odd music, and make up your own car dances. Count how many RoadWAY trucks you see on the road. Look at peoples plates to see where there from and try to keep up with them all in your head. Lots of things if you use your imagination
What is the history behind the "slugbug" game associated with seeing Volkswagon Beetles?
According to sites such as Wikipedia and UncoolMom the Slug Bug game originated in the early 1960's. It was a game played while in the car and although there were no formal rules most people played by similar rules where if you were the first one to see a VW Beetle you called out Slug Bug and punched the other person (or person next to you) in the arm immediately. Some versions of the game had you stating the color as well as Slug Bug and in some places it was known as Punch Buggy. The game has recently been revived for all versions of the VW due to advertising and is called Punch Dub.
