Deafeated empires in the New World for Spain
The first major impact of the exploration of the New World was due to the early start Spain had in its exploration of the New World. Spanish conquistadors and explorers defeated Native American Tribes and with that came the shipping of gold back to Spain. This led to the submission of the Inca & Aztec Tribal empires.
At various times, the Spanish, the British, the Dutch, the French, and the Portuguese all had empires in the New World.
The Treaty of Tordesillas, handed over the western part of South America and the New World to Spain, and the eastern parts of the New World to Portugal. Same with Southeast Asia. The Philippines was in the west, so Spain controlled it. East Timor was in the east, hence the name "EAST Timor", that was controlled by Portugal.
There were many things that resulted from the treaty of tordesillas. Spain and Portugal basically got all of the land from the new world. This made other nations/empires angry. The British, French, and Dutch ignored this treaty and explored the new world anyway
Spain was the first country to send explorers and colonists to the New World.
Both the Aztec and the Inca were defeated by Spanish conquistadors. Both the Aztec and the Inca were New World empires. Both the Aztec and Inca had calendars of their own. Both had gold artifacts that the Spanish wanted.

A big part of making Britain an Empire was during the Reign of Queen Elizabeth I. She defeated the Armada (Spanish Navy) which at that time was a world power. After the Armada was defeated Spain was bankrupt which also led to England ruling the waters and becoming a new world power.
The New World was discovered by mistake. Spain hoped that to sail in the opposite direction will get it to India.
