THe Maccabean Revolt of 165 BCE was led by Judah Maccabee. Hanukkah was instituted as a holiday by the Torah-sages at that time (Talmud, Shabbat 21b), which included the Maccabees. It's also mentioned in the ancient Book of Maccabees (I, 4:56-59; and II, 1:18), and Josephus (Antiquities ch.12).
