The system was completely changed in 2004 when we customized a version of Wikipedia's Mediawiki software. In 2006 the site was renamed WikiAnswers and became part of Answers.com. It has never stopped evolving and improving.

You can chat with other contributors on their message boards and see if they have a Facebook account attached to their WikiAnswers Profile. If both of you have a Facebook account, then you can ask to be their Facebook friend.
