According to her biography in the Web Gallery of Art, Angelica Kauffmann was one of the founding members of England's Royal Academy, and in its first catalogue of 1769 she is listed as a member. She didn't paint "for" them, rather many of her paintings, commissioned by various patrons, were exhibited there.
