Who did Aphrodite marry?
Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus, but often had secret
meetings with Ares the god of war, who became her lover.
Aphrodite is married to Hephaestus (god of fire and the forge), however she is dating Ares (god of war).
She married Hestaphus or Vulcan (the Roman name.)
It is odd that Aphrodite would marry Hephaestus because when Hephaestus was born his mother Hera saw that Hephaestus was deformed and she cast him off of mount olympus. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty and Hephaestus is not beautiful in the slightest making it odd that the goddess of beauty would mary one of the more ugly gods.
Aphrodite did not willingly marry Hephaestus, it was the god of metal who sent his mother, Hera, a golden throne that captured her, to release her Aphrodite was offered as the bride of the god that freed Hera - Aphrodite consented to this believing it would be Ares who freed Hera, but it was not and Hephaestus undid what his 'gift' had done and won her for his bride.
