For the souls he created, that lost their way by identifying as part of the physical world. Thus, man..."the physical body" was created, and respresented in The Bible as the creation of Adam. The human body is representative of the "house" that the souls God created, and who lost their way by becoming "addicted" to the physical sensations only experienced in matter, was best able to "merge" with the spiritual essence of the soul.

God said it himself (if I am not mistaken, in Genesis), and Jesus elaborated on this issue" that earth was created for US, to learn to overcome, and RULE. Meaning, to subdue and discipline our human inclination to be tempted by earthly sensations (food, drugs, sex, the ego identity, etc, etc.)

The ShortCut Answer:

He created the Earth for us. So that we may dwell with him. The reason why we are not with him anymore is because of the world's first sin from Adam and Eve and God simply cannot live with sin. He is without sin and is completely perfect.
