Andrew Jackson is known for the mistreatment of the Native Americans. After the Indian Removal Act of 1830, several Native American tribes, such as the Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw Indians were forced to leave their homelands on what is known today as the Trail of Tears. Over 6000 Native Americans died on this trail.

I think you are trying to lead someone to say that Jackson mistreated the Indians.

By modern standards, his Indian policy would possibly be considered "mistreatment",

but times and the world have changed. The Indians were a real threat in Nashville

when Jackson first moved there- many settlers were killed and their homes were burned

by Indians. Something had to be done and Jackson helped do it. Possibly a kinder

solution could have been found, but nobody knew what is was and even today it hard

to settle peacefully settle differences between warring parties ( e.g. see the Mid East).
