The youngest person to die while on Mount Everest was Pemba Sherpa. He was 19 years old and died on 25th April 2015.
During the climbing season in 1996 a total of 15 climbers died during a storm high up on Mount Everest.
During the climbing season on Mount Everest in 2012 there were sadly 10 reported deaths. Five had died from illness, Three had died from exhaustion and Three had died from falling. Six of them had reached the summit of Mount Everest while the other four had not.
