Best Answer

Ernst Rutherford discovered beta decay.

Henri Becquerel discovered that there were emissions somewhat like X-rays originating from uranium. Ernst Rutherford discovered that two different kinds of emissions were coming from the uranium, and he named these alpha and beta. He published a paper on this in 1897.

What is one unique fact about beta particales?

Beta particles are electrons, generally emitted by the cathode of a glow discharge system. When beta particles was discovered the atomic model was not known and the new "rays" were called with progressive names alfa rays, beta rays, gamma rays and so on.

What are the particles called from a nuclear decay?

These are known as alpha, beta, and gamma rays. Is there beta rays present in nucleus?

yes beta rays are present in nucleus. these rays are due to negative pi meson

Are gamma rays the same size as beta rays?

no

Why are alpha and beta rays bent in different directions?

Alpha and beta rays are bent in different directions because alpha is positively charged, beta is negative.

Did any rays are identical to beta rays?

I am rayray girlfriend

What type of x rays produce beta rays?

umm no.

What are AphaGamma Beta rays?

Alpha, Beta, and Gamma rays are all types of radiating created and used in the splitting of an atom.

Are thegamma and alfa rays electromagnetic radiation?

The gamma rays are. The alpha and beta "rays" are not.

What are the 4 radioactive rays produced?

You think probable to beta rays, gamma rays, alpha rays.

Why the speed of beta rays emitted by the same element are different?

because the control of neucles on different electrons is different and we know that beta rays are infact electrons then we can say that the speed of beta rays emitted by the same element is different
