I strongly suspect that the first human to study the night skies in wonder was Ugghhh the Caveman, who was also the first human. Seriously.
Every human civilization that we know of watched the sky, and I believe that the previous civilizations that we DON'T know about all did so, too. The Mesopotamians and Egyptians and Phoenicians certainly did, and the earliest records that still exist refer to still earlier records.
The word astronomy literally means "law of the stars" and can not be attributed to any one person. The study of the night sky is one of the oldest sciences of man, and has been practiced in changing cultures all over the world for thousands of years. For more information about the history of astronomy, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_astronomy
THIS IS ALL FAKE THE MOON IS CHEESE
I GOT IT FROM WIKIPEDIA
Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. Astronomers of early civilizations performed methodical observations of the night sky, and astronomical artifacts have been found from much earlier periods.Astronomy is the oldest of the natural sciences, dating back to antiquity, with its origins in the religious, mythological, cosmological, calendrical, and astrological beliefs and practices of pre-history: vestiges of these are still found in astrology, a discipline long interwoven with public and governmental astronomy, and not completely disentangled from it until a few centuries ago in the Western World. In some cultures, astronomical data was used for astrological prognostication.
That question cannot really be answered. Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. There have been many key figures in astronomy throughout history, but from the very first time humans looked into the skies and wondered about the sun, moon and stars, astronomy has been around.
No one has actually discovered astronomy. It has been around for years and years so it is hard to tell who actually discovered it.
people have been studying astronomy since the human race began there really is no first person that answer is a big load of bs (a+ users) the correct answer is the babylonians.
There is no answer to that. As long as people have been looking into the sky and wondering about the Sun, moon, stars and planets people have been engaging in astronomy.
