"Science" isn't a thing to be discovered; it is a set of techniques which have been developed over the last thousand years or so. "Science" and the experimental method is sort of like a cookbook; a set of recipes for discovering facts.
At the most basic level, the process of "science" is this:
1. Observe things in the world.
2. Notice the connections between them, and try to develop an explanation as to how these are connected.
3. Develop some experiments; tests that you can do to observe if things work the way that you expect them to.
4. Go back to Step 1.
The key is to make accurate observations.
