Noah The Bible in Genesis says that Noah was the first person to see the Rainbow after the Flood. Some may think this crazy. But think of this. One theory is that the earth was covered with a thick misty haze and that you could not directly see the Sun. Then when the rains came that caused the Great Flood, the sky cleared up and produced the Rainbow. Some theories also say that the atmospheric pressure at the time of Noah was twice as much as it is today. These scientists say that is why they lived longer in those days.
Sir Isaac newton,in 1665, was the first scientist to prove that white light was composed of the seven colours. He wrote a treatise on Optiks.
Isaac Newton was the first to discover this. It happened after light struck a prism he was holding, and prisms split the light into the visible spectrums that he saw.

There are seven colors in the rainbow. They are collectively known as ROY G BIV, which is shortened for the color names.
There are more than seven but only seven are visible. They are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, and the one that cant be seen is ultra-violet.
There are 7 colors in the rainbow. They are: Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo and Violet But there are also colors in between there like light blue, aqua blue turquios etcetc
Right after a thunderstorm, there will still be some water droplets in the sky. When the sunlight shines on these water droplets, the white light that is reflected off the water droplets is split into seven different colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, indigo.
After the rain, small water particles are dispersed in the air. As the sunlight (white light) consists of seven colors, so when it passes through the water droplets, they are split up into there constituents according to the velocities of color. In this way a rainbow is formed.

The rainbow has seven colours.
sir isaac newton =========================== Have you ever actually LOOKED at a rainbow ? Did you see seven 'distinct' colors ? Or did you see a continuous spread of every color that the human eye can see and the brain can distinguish ?
There are seven colors in the rainbow, and "seven" has five letters. ROY G BIV is the traditional mnemonic for the colors of the rainbow.
Rainbow has infinite number of colors. Every color the human eye can see is there.
There are several typical rainbow colors. They include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. These are the seven typical rainbow colors.
Iris was named after the goddess of the rainbow. There are seven colors in the rainbow.
The rainbow has ALL of the colors in it. Little kids in the First Grade learn seven colors, and many people never learn any more than that. But any color that the human eye can detect is in the rainbow, whether not it even has a name.
