Is Marvel going to make an Avengers movie and if so who or what will they be fighting in the movie?

Yes. Marvel Comics is going to be making two Avengers Movies.
The 1st film is Captain America, The First Avenger. It is supposed to be a period peice set entirely in World War II. Given the WWII time period, one could surmise that the villain would be the Red Skull. Howeever, that is only a guess on my part. No offical word on who the villain will be has been released.
The 2nd film is currently named The Avengers. No production details have been released. As for the heroes and villain/villians in the film, i guess we will all have to wait and see.
Both movies are scheduled to be released in 2011.
