You can get a shovel at Giza. First go to Blue Nile Falls and get the Blue Lily at the upper left side. Swap it at Nabooti for a desert turban. Wear the turban when you go to Giza. Instead of attacking you, the grave robbers give you a shovel. You can use it at the Kaya Forests (but you also need the Opuntia fruit from the Mountains of the Moon to get the tortoise to leave your digging spot).
If you have the cell phone from the Mountains of the Moon, you cn call the number on the shovel. This distracts the leader of the robbers and lets you grab the Moonstone from his knapsack. Use the Moonstone in the ring atop the Sphinx to open the tomb.
