we remember the soldiers who died in battle to end all battles

Answer 2

We also remember all those who lost their lives defending England, or fighting Britains wars. It's a day to remember all the people that we (As a country) have lost or sacraficed. It's the same for the other countries who do Rememberence Day - except they'll probably mourn their own losses...
It's honouring the soldiers who died in our country's/countries cause.
