Apex (; Proctor tears up his confession.
During the trials, it meant absolutely nothing. The Crucible didn't exist. The Crucible, written in the 1950s, is very loosely based on the events of the trials and the author, Arthur Miller, used that loose basis to criticize the McCarthyists in the Senate.
You need to do this.
B.The McCarthy era, the Salem witch trialsapex =)
For that quote I used " The Crucible by Arthur Miller"
he flies, just like Hector, Violet,Kleus and sunny did in the Vile Village in a series of unfortunate events
He saw the hard times the Depression and World War II caused and doubted the American Dream.
This is a statement and clearly a test question or homework. If you would like some help to figure it out we can help you, but not do the work for you.
The Crucible by Arthur Miller is a play based on the actual events that, in 1692, led to the Salem Witch Trials, a series of hearings before local magistrates to prosecute over 150 people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusettes between February 1692 and May 1693.
Well for starters, The Crucible was written by ARTHUR Miller. And it's fiction. However it is written about some real events. For example, the whole play is a metaphor for the Red Scare which involved the US being afraid of people being communists so they jailed innocent people. (Like the witches in the play)
Like many people involved in the events of the Salem witch trials of 1692, Martha Carrier wasn't a character in The Crucible. She was indeed charged with witchcraft and hanged for such, but Arthur Miller doesn't mention her in his play. I'm sorry; someone seems to have given you misinformation.
