Great Britain
It was Britain I believe.
They are claimed by Argentina.
The majority of the residents of the Falkland Islands belong to the Church of England (Anglican Church).
The islands belong to the Falkland islanders. The reasons for this are because: 1. The land belongs, for the most part, to the people who live there, and they don't want it to be part of Argentina. As a democracy, the right of self-determination is supported. 2. They don't belong to Britain - it is a self-governing Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom. 3. Argentina never effectively owned them - they claimed it at a time when several other countries did the same, and there was a bit of pushing and shoving to see who could stake a permanent claim. Also if anyone refers to them as the "Falkland Islands" then they must not believe they belong to Argentina. Calling them that is being offensive to the Argentine people. They call them the "Malvinas".
