Anorexia affects 1 in every 250 or so people (the number is not exact, since many cases go un-noticed or un-reported). Of those people 90% are female, 10% are male. Usually, anorexia occurs the most between the ages of 12 and 25, but can happen (less commonly, though) outsied of that range. 2/3 of cases of anorexia are in "Western" society, and 95% of all anorexics live in middle- or upper-class families.

Anorexia affects roughly 1 in every 250 people. (In America, that is about 8 million people.) This number is not exact - many expect it to actually be much higher - as numerous cases go unnoticed or unreported each year.
