let the dead bury the dead
Bury them. David was a great king in the Bible and he was buried by the people: Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day (Acts 2.29)
Jewish tradition (Oral Torah) stresses that an effort be made to bury the dead on the day of his/her death, or as early as possible.
No where does Messiah Yeshua/Jesus say mourn for the dead, He said: Let the dead bury the dead: Matthew 8:22 & Luke 9:60 But Yeshua/Jesus said to him, Follow Me; and let the dead bury their dead. Lazarus was dead 4 days and Messiah was dead 3 days and we know they mourned for HIM. Matt.9:15 Messiah says :Can the children of the bridechamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But nowhere does He say Mourn for the Dead. Sorry,The Jews mourn their dead.Messianic Rabbi Tom
It is not biblical. However, it is a Christian custom to bury the dead with their head oriented to the west. They believe that when the call to Resurrection comes, the dead (sleeping) will rise and face Jesus. Some ordained clergy are buried with their heads facing east so when these are called, they will face all others and be ready to minister to the people.
