GM used to employ 91,000 before the economy turned. Also, a GM Plant in the US pays much better and has better benefits than a Toyota Plant in the US.
This answer used to say that GM employed about 20,000 people in the US. That was incorrect. I don't know where these people are getting their numbers, but that was just plain stupid.
