He wanted to create a working breed that excelled in capability and obedience but was also corageous and had lots of working drive. When he found his perfect dog, Horan, Capt. Stephanitz found suitable females and bred him several times. He also bred Horan to his offspring in order to solidify type. Thus the breed was born.
