According to historians, Prince Hall founded the first African-American dominated black masons in the late 18th Century. This mason group included free and former enslaved black men.

No. Women can not be Masons. They can be Eastern Star if they are married to Mason or have a relative that is a Mason. Her ancestry includes Masons and one founded the Grand Lodge of England, but I don't think any of the current Royals are.
