The first prayer house of Brahma Sabha was opened in 1830 after which Ram Mohun Roy went to England where he expired. In 1839 Devendranath.Tagore founded the Tattwabodhini Sabha which was renamed as Calcutta Brahmo Samaj in 1843 after merger with the defunct Brahma Sabha. The First Brahmo to enter this world was Hemendranath Tagore in 1844. To Hemendranath Tagore fell the task of founding Adi Dharm which is the largest development of Brahmo Samaj today.
