Nerf was formed in 1969 by Milton Bradley, the makers of Monopoly. 20 years later the first Nerf "weapon" was made, and Nerf was sold to Kenner by the end of the year. Kenner had Nerf until 1997 when Larami took it over. In 2001, Hasbro bought Nerf and shut down Larami, OddzOn (who helped produce Nerf guns) and Koosh (who had their own line of Nerf guns called Vortex). Hasbro then proceeded to sue Buzz Bee and Lanard later on in 2008, and then they bought Super Soaker.
