the same salt water system used in a pool is also fine for a spa. the amount of chlorine generated is determined by the input current to the salt cell and the amount of time in operation.

Can you change a regular hot tub to a saltwater hot tub?

You will need to get equipment besides the salt to convert to a saltwater system. The way a salt water system works is that salt is added to the water in the pool then an electrode is fitted inline that works usually while the filter is opperating which converts the salt into chlorine which then disololves int the water. You would be best of checking with your poolshop to find out what would be the best choice.

What are salt water systems?

when the calibrated fluxer snaps the fresh water system turns into a salt water system totally kidding it is when you dump a bucket of salt into a fresh water system nothing to do with the fluxer or dynamic thrust

Why does my Intex salt water pool system keep turning the water brown - goes into the system clear but water exits the system - and into pool - brownish?

Are you using iodized salt or pool salt? I've read that the iodine in the iodized salt will leave yellow staining in the pool.

What is the recommended type of salt, such as extra coarse salt, for optimal performance in a water softener system?

The recommended type of salt for optimal performance in a water softener system is typically extra coarse salt.

When salt is dissolved in water do you think the entropy of the system of salt and water increases or decreases?

When salt dissolves in water, the entropy of the system increases. This is because the salt molecules become surrounded by water molecules, leading to a more disordered state compared to the separate salt crystal and water molecules.

Will switching from chlorine chemical system to a salt water system ruin pool?

No A salt water pool is in fact also chlorine pool, the difference being that with a salt water pool a salt water chlorinator converts the salt that is in the water into chlorine gas which is then dissolved into the water while the filter is running. the conversion wont have any adverse effects on the pool.

Fresh water pool that you are thinking of converting to a Salt Water system your neighbors tell you that they have little or no maintenance with their Salt system?

I have a fresh water pool that I am thinking of converting to a Salt Water system. My neighbors tell me that they have little or no maintenance with their Salt system. The question I have is if I convert to a salt system why do I have to spend $1,000 on a Chlorine Generator.? If I add the salt, to change the softness and control the Algae then instead of purchasing a Chlorine Generator and paying the electricity costs why don't I just use my present automatic chlorinator with Chlorine Tablets? After a process called electrolysis is using the box of electronics breaks down the salt in the salt water In a salt system the electronic box is connected to the electrodes in the "Cell". So my point is that instead of generating chlorine from salt why don't I just add it like I don now with my fresh water system..

What is a chlorine generator?

Many people are choosing to remodel their swimming pool systems to add saltwater chlorination. With a saltwater pool system, a chlorine generator is added to the pool's filtration system. The water circulates through the chlorinator, where salt produces a chlorine gas that dissolves into the water. That chlorine in turn, breaks down and turns into salt, cycling the process all over again.

What system removes water and salt?

De-salination.

How can you tell if the system is salt water or chlorine?

How does dissolving salt in water affect the mass of salt and water?

Dissolving salt in water does not change the total mass of the salt and water. The mass of the combined system will be the sum of the mass of the salt and the mass of the water. However, the volume of the solution will increase due to the added salt.
