NEWater production was implemented by Singapore's national water agency the PUB in late 2002 and officially annoumced in February 2003. NEWater is the product made from used water or sewerage that is treated and purified by advanced technology to a standard of cleanliness that is higher than drinking water. It is colourless, odourless and contains pure water - minus minerals that are usually found in normal tap water.
