Bubblegum has a long history. A couple of years before bubblegum was invented, people wanted something to chew that could not harm the human body. Scientist heard the new and immediately set to work. Many scientists thought to name the sticky substance they created 'Bubble gum'. It was invented by many different scientists; however, none of them actually were sold. These inventions of bubblegum were to sticky, watery, or tasteless. One day, a scientist that was creating something completely different, mixed rubber and another substance and created gum. He only had pink dye at the time so that is the color that most bubble gum flavored gum is today. It was not too sticky or too watery. So we can thank this scientist for giving us Americas most popular addiction.
