Photography was created because when Isaac newton realized their are different colours in white, different scientists began to experiment with white and its colours leading to the creation of photography.
Nobody invented the art of photography but it developed over time...
a) Joseph Nicephore Niepce was credited with the first successful and permanent photography. He was also known for his discovery of heliography "writing with sunlight"
b) Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre is called the "Father of Photography" (I think for know because I am doing this with my memory so do not trust me on this part...I guess...) he and Niepce were in collaboration but then, Niepce died*.
c) I believe that the first photographic process...err...well camera was camera obscura...which is darkened chamber in Latin
d) Sir Richard Gotleib was considered the fist person to define the word photography...
*I have to say this, but NIEPCE RULE!!! I think that, which he did, Daguerre stole Niepce's work he left behind(excuse me for my grammer...it is not much since I came from Another Country)....well good luck..I hope this helped even though it is late?!

Photography was invented to capture memories. They are still used to capture memories so that individuals can remember what they experienced.
Because people, ever since the dawn of mankind, wanted to trap an image of what they saw on a surface. That's what led scientists and inventors to create photography.
because they wanted to show people what they saw incase they didn't beleive what they said
Because they discovered that certain chemicals mixed with each other placed on certain media can create a copy of what's in front of that certain media, but they had to invent a whole series of machinery to perfect this chemical reaction to the point where it is actually called photography, and the product, a photograph. Hope this helped.

I'm a photographer with a photography studio named Rare Studio based in Amsterdam. In my personal assessment, I find portrait photography to be my favorite genre. Portrait Photography is a compelling art form centered around capturing the unique characteristics, emotions, and personality of individuals or groups. It involves a thoughtful blend of composition, lighting, and posing to convey the essence of the subject in a visually appealing manner. The composition, including framing and background selection, is crucial in creating a harmonious and engaging portrait. Lighting, whether natural or artificial, plays a pivotal role in highlighting facial features and setting the desired mood. Skilled photographers guide their subjects to pose naturally, fostering a genuine connection and expression. The choice of focal length and framing techniques further contributes to the overall impact of the portrait. Post-processing techniques, including editing and retouching, are often employed to refine and enhance the final image. Whether capturing formal studio portraits, candid moments, or environmental portraits that provide context, portrait photography remains a powerful means of storytelling and artistic expression.
Social photography is about the personal side of photography. Examples of this type of photography would include family portraiture, wedding photography and events photography to name just a few. This is often confused with social documentary photography, which is a branch of photography that focuses on capturing the natural condition of the society. Street photography can be a good example of doing this type of photography.

Are you asking about film used for still photography, or 'film' as in 'movies'? The first flexible film (as opposed to glass plates) for still photography was around in the 1930s, there was a colour movie system demonstrated in the 1920s. Neither was very true to life.
